We are looking for information about an artist who painted murals and/or frescos at Detroit’s Holy Cross Hungarian Church after 1945. Paul? or Andrew(Andreas) Daubner was a member of the World Federation of Hungarian Artists in NY. A book on historic Detroit churches is being prepared. Thanks.

    Dear Mrs. Mes,

I would like to draw your kind attention to the Hungarian artist Mrs. Éva Bednay who has left Hungary at the beginning of the 1970-ies, wnt to New York and lived there for a few years and settled down in West Germany, in Bonn.

She is a remarkable, unique artist who prepares silk-collages, oil-pastells and oil paintings. She is going to have a huge exhibition organised by the Hungarian Embassy in the Hague and the Mayor of Wassenaar (The Netherlands) at the beginning of 2009 (January/February). She exhibited many times int he exhibitions of Hungarian artists living abroad which have been held in Budapest (Műcsarnok).

I would like to suggest to feature her on your website „Displaced Hungarian Artists – a Gallery”.

I send her CV to you.

At the same time I can send to you digital photos of some of her artworks.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. István Gyebnár
